New York Mets - Another Heart Breaking Loss

The Mets fell to the Phils 8-6 tonight in a heart breaking loss. The Mets went into the 9th with a 5-2 lead only to have the bullpen give up 6 runs in the 9th.

I would classify tonight’s loss as the most devastating loss of the year and there is one question everyone associated with the Mets need to answer….Why on earth didn’t Santana come out to start the 9th???? Forget about Chavez being thrown out at home plate two times, forget about the Mets leaving the bases loaded in the 7th inning and forget about Jose Reyes missing the bag on a routine play in the 9th. I need Jerry Manuel to explain why our ace pitcher who was cruising was not brought out for the 9th inning, knowing Wagner was not available???

I don’t want to hear about he was tired….He only threw 105 pitches and cruised through 8 innings. If he was tired after 105 pitches and didnt want to close out the 9th in one of the most important games of the year then I want him off this team because he’s not the ace I thought he was. There is no excuse at all that anyone can convince me as to why he was taken out of this game.

Tonights game had last year’s collapse writtent all over it, and guess what Mets fans: you can’t blame Willie, Wagner, Reyes, Delgado or Heilman this time. Blame either Manual or Santana….take you pick.
